From a storefront to a Business Conglomerate

Laxmipati began in 1984, when Mr. Govind Prasad Sarawagi started a small saree trading business in Surat. What started as a one-man operation grew, over four decades, into one of India’s most recognised saree brands — built on the same values it started with: quality fabric, honest pricing, and designs that respect the women who wear them.

Today, the business is carried forward by the next generation of the Sarawagi family, still rooted in Surat, still focused on the craft that built it.

Every Laxmipati fabric passes through our in-house design and quality team before it goes into production. From the first sketch to the final print, embroidery, or value addition, our designers work to make sure each saree feels as good as it looks — season after season.
