The Establishment of Laxmipati: Origins and Beginnings

Laxmipati Sarees started as a humble rented retail store in Surat 1984 by Shri Govindprasad Sarawagi. He bought his first store in 1991 at J.J Market. His sons Rakesh Sarawagi, Sanjay Sarawagi, and Manoj Sarawagi have helped expand the saree business empire. The eldest son Sanjay Sarawagi guided the production of the revolutionary Makhan Crepe fabric. The second son Manoj Sarawagi increased saree sales by three times. The youngest son Rakesh Sarawagi handles all the international orders. In 2007, Shri Govindprasad Sarawagi expanded the business by setting up a manufacturing unit in Pandesara, Surat, Gujarat. The name Laxmipati Sarees was trademarked in 2006, starting the branding journey.

Sarees: Crafting Process Unveiled

Laxmipati uses state-of-the-art machinery from countries like Germany, Italy, Switzerland etc. The sarees undergo various heating and design processes before it's packaged for the consumer. High-tech machines like colour dispensing machines, flatbed printing machines, laser engraving machines, rotary machines, digital printing machines, embroidery machines etc, are used to create the final product. Exciting prints, colours and patterns are carefully crafted by designers who consistently watch the market for the latest trends.

Decoding the Process of Saree Manufacturing

Cloth is purchased from local vendors and machine or jet washed, dried and segregated. The borders are aligned and again sent for washing. The thick material is then flattened and dyed into different colours. The fabric goes through various design processes like printing, stonework, foil stamping, dewdrops, embroidery etc. The sarees are then carefully packaged for delivery.

All these processes have been done on a massive scale with efficient workers and engineers executing the strategies. From selling readymade sarees to handling manufacturing and international sales, Laxmipati has come a long way.
